Explore Issues Related to Family Violence
 
Many children who have experienced or witnessed family violence
suffer severe and disabling symptoms of distress. The developmental, emotional and psychological injuries caused by family violence are often underestimated.
 
CHANCE is a nonprofit organization devoted to advocacy and education. Our focus is to:
 
  • Train professionals such as social workers, teachers, lawyers and doctors on the impact family violence has on children and how to better serve their clients
  • Provide parenting strategies in a home-based visitation program for those parenting in the aftermath of family violence
  • Offer nonviolent choices for children
  • Collaborate with existing programs to enhance support services to families

Our goals are to:

  • Educate on the grooming process of abuse and how to break the cycle
  • Move children through the healing process Generate safety plans for victims
  • Empower parents
  • Provide promise for a future free of family-violence

CHANCE offers training programs that equip parents and professionals to deal confidently and compassionately with children from family violent households. We customize topics and lengths of training sessions for the specific needs of the agency or organization. When you choose one of our training programs, you are helping to extend our mission: to make family violence socially unacceptable….for the sake of the children.
